As a fan of psychology I am really looking forward to David Cronenberg’s “A Dangerous Method” which is based on the documented relationship of the two icons or appropriately said archetypes of the discipline, namely Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. The story of two friends, a mentor and protege who break ground together but soon part ways to establish two opposite poles and schools in psychology. Freudian Psychoanalysis versus Jungian analytical psychology.
The casting seems to be spot on, especially Michael Fassbender who’ve really impressed me in recent years as an old-school method actor who truly transformers into the character (just compare him as Jung here and as Magneto in the latest X-men movie). Honestly I did not recognise him, it was first when I noticed his name on the list that I realised it was him. As you see he looks like the spitting image of Jung. Fingers crossed Cronenberg will do their portrayal justice, the trailer surely promises that he will.
